The exams were held at more than 40 centres across the city. Parents were also seen accompanying their anxious wards to the examination centres.

On the chemistry paper, a student, Siddartha Verma, said: “I was very anxious before I sat for the test as I have always been scared of the subject. Though, I entered the hall with fear, the question paper turned out to be not as difficult as I had imagined.”

The questions on organic chemistry, however, left the students stumped. “The paper was not very tough but I found the questions on organic chemistry very confusing. It could be because I have never developed a liking for the subject,” smiled Tanushree, another student.

Her friend, Aakriti, added “While organic chemistry is very scoring, it poses challenging questions during the test. It was tricky today.”

The length of the paper also played spoilsport for many students. “The one-mark questions were a good way to increase the score but the paper was too lengthy. I could not attempt the last two questions,” rued Armaan, another student.

For the experts, however, the question paper was according to the syllabus but the length did not go down too well with students.

“The question paper exceeded the time limit. Otherwise, it was not very difficult. I have got a positive feedback from all my students. If one had studied the syllabus thoroughly, scoring first division marks was easy,” said Sunil K, an expert on the subject.
