Hailing these parents, Sister B.K. Rajkumari, Incharge of local service centre, said, “Woman is a main source of transformation.”

She explained the role of women in the betterment of the world and expressed her views that the government should provide free health-care, education and basic services to female child. Sister Davinder Kaur, a housewife and a regular student of Brahma Kumaris, told that parents should always encourage their girl children to move ahead in life with positive outlook. “Parents should repose confidence in the girl child and Brahma Kumaris show the way to do this,” she said.

While Gurjinder Singh, who was elated on the birth of a first baby girl at their home, said, “We were quite exciting at the birth of the new baby. For us the gender of the baby did not matter. While we would pay attention to raising our daughter inculcating values in her.” Manpreet Kaur, a proud mother of two daughters, said: “Me and my husband are very happy with our daughters. They are good in studies and they can do whatever they want to do, gender has never been a problem for my daughters.”

Ram Sarrop, a proud father of a pilot daughter, stated, “The day I received news of my daughter’s achievement, I felt so elated. My daughter has given me an opportunity to feel proud among my relatives. There is hardly any difference being a boy or a girl, so girls should be given their due share in each and every aspect and no bias should be accepted.”

Balwinder Kaur, who was blessed with third daughter recently, said, “My husband is a labourer, but we will educate all of them.” Surinder Kaur, sarpanch of Jhande village, also participated in this programme.
