Kolkata The residence of International yoga guru Bikram Chowdhury in south Kolkata was vandalised by parking lot attendants on Wednesday after they had a tiff with the owner over parking fees. While one of them has been arrested, four others are absconding.

According to police sources, trouble began after some of Chowdhury’s guests, who had parked their vehicles near his house, left the area allegedly without paying the parking fees. When the attendants demanded money from Chowdhury, he refused and told them that his guests had paid the parking fee.

Soon, the altercation between Chowdhury and the attendants turned violent. The attendants ransacked four cars, which were parked in front of Chowdhury’s residence and broke the glass panes of his house. Chowdhury later lodged an FIR against the five attendants at Gariahat police station.

“The five miscreants were recruits of a private agency, Gitanjali Fee-parking Cooperative limited. One of them, Dhananjay Mandal, has been arrested,” said Jawed Shamim, Joint CP (Headquarters).
