Patiala and Ludhiana to clash in handball final

Ludhiana Patiala and Ludhiana boys’ teams will clash in the handball final in the Punjab State Handball Championship which started at Jarkhar village on Wednesday. In hockey, Haryana boys’ team thrashed Qila Raipur by 4-1 while Jagtar Academy defeated Chandigarh by 1-0. The matches between Sangrur Academy and Jarkhar Academy and Bahadurgarh Academy and Sangrur Academy ended in goalless draws.

In the girls’ category, DAV College, Amritsar thrashed Chandigarh Academy by 3-0. In basketball, Ropar scored a 57-49 win over Ferozepur while Amritsar defeated Hoshiarpur by 57-49. Earlier, hockey international Jugraj Singh and former football player Gurmeet Kaur ignited the torch.
