PAU Athletic Meet on February 8

Ludhiana, February 6 DR Dulcha Singh Brar, Director Students’ Welfare of PAU, the 42nd Annual PAU Athletic Meet is being organized on February 8.

The meet will be inaugurated by PAU Vice-Chancellor Dr Manjit Singh Kang. Padma Shri Bahadur Singh will preside over the concluding function in the evening, to be held the same day. Dr Brar added that Arjuna Awardee Gagan Ajit Singh will be the guest of honour.

Dr Brar said that the Shri Amarpal Singh Sandhu Memorial Cash award of Rs 5,000, Rs 3,000 and Rs 1,000 will be awarded to the top three athletes respectively, in the men’s section of the meet. He added that a gold medal instituted in the name of an erstwhile alumnus of the University, Lata Mahajan Chinnan, will be awarded to the Best Athlete in the Women’s Section. Special prizes will also be given to the students who won distinctions in sports and cultural activities during the session 2007-08.
