PAU: New persons take over key posts

Ludhiana, February 1 DR Paramjit Singh Minhas has joined as new Director Research, and Dr Milkha Singh Aulakh as Dean, College of Agriculture of PAU. Their appointments were approved by the PAU Board of Management in its meeting held on January 7.

Earlier, Dr Minhas was working as Assistant Director General, Irrigation Water Management (ICAR). He studied at Malwa Khalsa High School, Ludhiana, and is an alumnus of PAU.

Dr Aulakh has worked on different aspects of fertilizer sources. He has been a recipient of Fulbright Research various prestigious awards. He hails from Attari, Amritsar district, and is a widely traveled scientist.

Three new heads of departments have also joined their offices today. Dr Rajinder Singh Sidhu joined as Head, Department of Economics and Sociology, Dr Kushal Singh as Head, Department of Botany and Dr Davinder Singh Cheema as Head, Department of Vegetable Crops.

Dr Sidhu is renowned agricultural economist and had been a student of Dr SS Johl. Dr Kushal Singh has served as a Senior Plant Physiologist in the Department of Landscaping and Floriculture. Dr Cheema is vegetable breeder has been associated with the development of improved varieties and hybrids of tomato.
