PAU signs MoU with Christian Medical College

Ludhiana, February 1 A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by PAU and Christian Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) for collaboration in research and training in the areas of molecular biology, biotechnology, electron microscopy imaging and nano-science technology.

The signatories to the MoU were Dr John Pramod, Director CMCH and Vice-Chancellor Dr Manjit Singh Kang. PAU Director of Research Dr MS Aulakh and Principal CMCH Dr John Abraham, signed as witnesses.

With the signing of this MoU, both the institutes have come to an understanding to promote collaborative research and training in the identified areas. The MoU will be valid for ten years at the first instance, but can be extended further.

The participating institutes mutually agreed to follow the specified terms and conditions of the MoU. In the formal function held in the Committee Room of the Vice-Chancellor, a CMCH team with its Director Dr John Pramod as a team leader and Dr John Abraham (Principal of Medical College), Dr Jeyaraj Pandian (Head of Research) and Dr Neeta Kang (Head of Innovation) of Betty Cowan Research and Innovation Centre of CMCH and Aman Sharma, PR Manager CMCH, were present to sign the MoU.

Dr Kang said that the university has entered into MoUs with a number of foreign universities, and that a tie-up with CMCH will be mutually beneficial for both the institutes. He added that PAU is endeavouring to popularize these facilities in agricultural and other areas. Dr Kang welcomed the signing of the MoU with CMCH as a positive beginning in this direction.

From PAU, Dr RK Mahey (Registrar), Dr Milkha Singh Aulakh (Dean, College of Agriculture), Dr Tejwant Singh (Dean, College of Basic Sciences), Dr Jagtar Singh Dhiman (Additional Director of Communication), Dr SS Gosal (Professor of Biotechnology), Dr VR Parshad (Director, Electron Microscope and Nanoscience Lab) were also present.
