Paul, Pankaj fashion NER XI victory

Lucknow, January 2 A 181-run first wicket partnership between Paul Shepherd (105 not out) and Pankaj Agarwal (91) fashioned a thumping 111-run win for NER XI against Supreme Club in their league match of the Dr Akhilesh Das Twenty20 Cricket Tournament at Das Stadium here on Wednesday. While Paul’s 105 resulted off 60 balls which featured 14 hits to the fence, Pankaj’s 91 came off 54 balls which included eight boundaries and four lofty sixes.

In another league match of the same tourney, Lal Bahadur Shastri Cricket Club (LBSCC) defeated Lucknow Cricket Academy (LCA) by seven wickets. Batting first, LCA scored 105 runs losing all its wickets in 20 overs. In reply, LBSCC romped home after attaining the set mark in 18.1 overs with seven wickets to spare.
