Bharatiya Janata Party state general secretary Vinod Tawade on Sunday took a dig at NCP leader Sharad Pawar for not pushing the issue of reservation to Maratha community. “If the Maratha community’s demand for reservation is not fulfilled, the coming elections will be tough for Pawar and his daughter,” he said.
Tawade was speaking at the convention of Maratha community, Maratha Darbar, organised by the Akhil Bharatiya Maratha Mahasangh. He also alleged that Pawar was searching for political mileage in the issue by not giving firm commitment.
Tawade said, “Maratha community does not want political reservation. But Pawar has purposefully created a faction in the community and by covertly supporting another Maratha leader Vinayak Mete, he is trying to minimise the influence of the leader of OBC community Chhagan Bhujbal. But Maratha community is aware of this and will not fall prey to these tactics.”
Tawade also criticised former chief minister Vilasrao Deshmukh for not taking firm stand on the issue. “Vilasrao has all the time to do whatever so that his brother becomes minister, but when it comes to issue of reservation of Maratha community he is not so active,” he said.
Revenue Minister Patangrao Kadam, who inaugurated the convention, assured the gathering that the government will take decision on the reservation as early as possible. President of Maratha Mahasangh Shashikant Pawar, Rajendra Kondhare and Praveen Gaikawad of Sambhaji Brigade were also present on the occasion. Nitin Desai, producer of TV serial Raja Shree Shiv Chhatrapati and Dr Amol Kolhe, who plays the lead role, were felicitated on the occasion.

It is been well known principle in politics if you keep problems unsolved you can drive political mileage any time at your will but if you resolve it people will not come to politicians.
now, it seems that govt can hear voices of voilence only.the issue of maratha reservation cannot be solved by rallies, conferences, sabhas or dharnas. if we have to achieve reservation we must follow gurjars.the biggest obstacle in maratha reservation is sharad pawar. he worries about muslims ,obcs, dalits. he has nothing to do with dismal economic and educational plight of poor marathas.
Though maratha cast having more than 40% population in maharashtra. Still Maratha couldn't achieve reservation in govt. jobs and education. More than 65 % M.L.A. are of this cast. Situation of 80 % maratha family is very worst. They dont have other source of earning tham farming. Per family land holding is very low to get survive. Maximum population is leaving in rural areas of maharashtra. Their childrens are taking education in Govt. Schools where edu. quality is worst. As they are from vernacular medium they can't be able to get job in Todays India(britsh followers). Politcians of all parties are taking undue advantage of this cast. Sharad Pawar who is called as Maratha strong man also against the reservation to this cast. I wan to challene political leaders from different casts such as Mali,Dhangar, vanjari who are against maratha reservation to make survey of Maharashtra Social situation including allcastes. Then mahatashtra will come to know how they are taking undue advantag
must have a maratha reservation but seen that not interested political leader. Necessary maratha reservation because "Kunbi" maratha community allready OBC but not the different of between "Kunbi" maratha and maratha these are same. why the maratha community regress?
