PC Jewellers robbery: police look for ‘vital’ clues, announce reward

Panchkula Even as investigations in the PC Jewellers robbery case entered the third day on Thursday, the police are yet to make any significant breakthrough.

The jewellers estimated the quantum of the loss to be around Rs 1.75 crore, said the police while adding that an award of Rs 50,000 has been announced for those who provide information related to the heist.

“We have announced the award to anybody providing vital information about the robbery. The police are working on the CCTV camera footage,” said Superintendent of Police (SP) Sandeep Khirwar.

The numbers on which information can be conveyed are 2567101, 9888859486, 9216351003, 9216020057 and 9216020072.

The SP said the police are waiting for response to the CCTV camera footage of the accused released in the newspapers. On the possibility of installing CCTVs at hotels in Panchkula, like it was done in Chandigarh, Khirwar denied of any such rule to be passed in the future saying some hotels have already installed the cameras on their premises.
