Kolkata The annual fest of IIM-Calcutta, Capre Diem 2010, saw some special guests this time. The premiere institute invited 400 underprivileged children from the nearby locality to participate in the annual celebrations on Saturday.

Terming this unique gesture as “Pehla Kadam”, the students of the institute brought the underprivileged children from Joka in South 24-Parganas. The children participated in a dance programme, mime show and a small play. Of the 400 children, 35 performed in various programmes organised by the institute.

“The purpose was to give the children a platform to express themselves,” said Hariharan Sriram, External Relations Secretary of IIM-Calcutta. Two II-year students of the Post Graduate Programme also performed for these children.
