Ahmedabad The United Forum of Reserve Bank of India Officers and Employees will observe a mass casual leave on Friday.

They will protest against the administrative circular issued by the RBI management, negating the Pension Updation Scheme introduced for the retired employees with effect from 1.11.2002.

The Forum has alleged that the government has forced the RBI to subject over 4,000 old retirees of the bank to a reduction in their pension ranging from Rs 1,000 to Rs 6,000 per month.

The Forum has met Union ministers Oscar Fernandez and Pawan Kumar Bansal to apprise them of their plight.

It has said that their programme will cause hardship and inconvenience to the customers, as banking services will be totally paralysed that day.

The Forum has appealed to the media, political parties and trade unions to support their demand.
