Pune, February 24 Citizens no more have to go to separate locations and stand in queues everytime to pay their telephone bills, electricity bills or even book railway tickets — the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) initiated Citizen Facilitation Centre (CFC) kiosks, started for the citizens to pay all their municipal corporation related bills, will have all the facility at one point in all kiosks spread across the city from the next financial year.

“The contract for starting the facility to start payment of bills of BSNL will be signed in few days as we have already paid the bank guarantee for the purpose. The discussions with the MSEDCL are also nearing completion,” Rohan Dudhedia, Director, Vansh Infotech, told The Indian Express.

The CFC already provides facilities for payment of property tax and water tax, along with issuing of birth and death certificates as per the agreement with the PMC.

“The private company has been given a free hand in generating additional revenue through incorporating various other facilities in the CFC kiosk,” the PMC officer said.

In fact, it will be in the interest of the citizens that the multi-bill facility is made available to them at the CFC kiosks, he added.

Dudhedia said the discussions are going on with various mobile service providers to take advantage of the kiosks set up by PMC.

“We plan to add more services to citizens through kiosks as a business point of view. The success of the initiative will open the market for us in various other cities,” Dudhedia said.

Though the facility to pay BSNL bills and electricity bills would be in place by March- end, he said most of the services will be in place from the beginning of the next financial year and will be available in phases at different locations.

The railway booking facility will take time as a software exclusively for digital signature has to be installed, Dudhedia said.

The PMC plans to install CFC kiosks in all 144 wards. A total of 52 CFC kiosks are operational at present and it will go upto 80-85 by March end. As per the plan, the PMC is to pay a fee of Rs 15,000 a month to the contractor for each kiosk.

All the kiosks installed so far are operational from 8 am to 8 pm and functioning well. A person has been appointed at each of the kiosks as per the PMC demand. Meanwhile, the work on shifting the CFC kiosks set-up on the footpath has already started as per the directions of Mayor Rajlaxmi Bhosale following the General Body discussion last week.
