Pune, January 11 Pune Municipal commissioner Praveensinh Pardeshi has tabled a proposal before the Standing Committee to direct the civic health department to issue no objection certificates (NOC) to the cyber cafe owners in the city.

The proposal states: “In order to run the cyber cafes, it is mandatory for the owners to get license from the police. However, since the police department has made it mandatory to get NOC from the health department of PMC.”

The cyber cafe owners in the city have started approaching the municipal health department to acquire the NOCs. However, since the civic body has not formulated any policy for this, the health department is finding it tough to cater to the demand and to issue the certificates. Considering this, the civic chief wants to lay down a policy for the same.

The proposal states that in order to get an NOC, the cyber cafe owners need to possess clearance certificate from the construction department. They also need to submit their property tax payment receipts. These cafes need to provide sanitation facility and drinking water as per the requirements of the customers.

The cafes also need to have proper electricity supply and ventilation. Above all, it is also mentioned that these cafes should place only one computer per 30 sq feet.
