Pune, February 6 Threatening to go on hunger strike, the PMT Kamgar Sangh has demanded the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Ltd (PMPML) to stall the use of e-ticketing service by Thursday.

The recent revelation of e-ticketing scam in the PMPML has led to financial loss to PMC due to duplication of e-ticketing machine. Though the police is conducting inquiry into the alleged malpractice, the Kamgar Sangh said they will go on hunger strike along with NCP corporator Sunil Bankar if the e-ticketing service is not stopped immediately.

“The PMT Kamgar Sangh may also go on indefinite strike bringing the PMPML service to standstill,” Rajendra Kharade, president of PMT Kamgar Sangh said.

NCP corporator has also demanded immediate action against all involved in the scam.

The PMPML had launched its e-ticketing service from February 2007 on pilot basis despite opposition from the employees union.

The service was implemented in Katraj and Swargate depot and was being used by 900 conductors so far. The daily revenue from tickets is Rs 60 lakh while Rs 15 lakh from e-ticketing.
