Four hospitals at Pavi Jetpur were sealed on Thursday for the same reason.

During a two-day investigation, 51 teams comprising health officials and MBBS doctors have scrutinised the authenticity of the degrees possessed by all the doctors in the district.

During the survey it was found that 22 private practitioners were practising without any valid certificates. The district health officials have also sealed four hospitals at Pavi Jetpur which were being run by unqualified doctors.

Moreover, the district health authorities have also sent notices to over 120 ayurvedic and homoeopathic doctors who were found giving allopathic treatment to patients.

All such doctors have been given a notice period of two days to stop allopathic practise and discontinue giving any kind of injectable treatment. “The ayurvedic and homoeopathic practitioners are not allowed to give intravenous injections to patients,” said Bhagwat Itare, the chief district health officer of Vadodara.

During the survey, over 30 doctors were found absconding. According to district health officials, cases were registered against 35 doctors last year. During the recent raids, the authorities have caught over 10 to 15 per cent of the doctors who were found to be practising without MCI permission last year also.
