Police conduct raids to find servant who robbed family

Panchkula The Panchkula police raided several places in sector 12 and 14 where the Nepali servant accused of drugging four members of a family, along with their driver, on Tuesday night, The servant, who had been hired by the family three days before the incident, had fled away with cash and jewelery worth Rs three lakhs.

Driver of the family, Ram Bahadur, was also interrogated by the police. “The servant Deepak had been hired three days back by the family on the recommendation of their driver Ram Bahadur. The servant worked in a house in sector 12 prior to joining the family. It was for this that the driver Ram Bahadur was interrogated and a team of police officials along with the driver raided several places the servant, Deepak, used to frequent”, said the SHO, Sector 5, Baljit Singh.

A relative of the family said the the servant had plans to visit Nepal to meet his father.

Though all the members of the family and the driver are out of danger, the samples taken at the General Hospital, Sector 6, here, to identify the chemical that was used by the servant to drug the family, have been sent to Madhuban Forensic Laboratory for tests.

“The samples have been sent to the laboratory and the officials there have been requested to take up the matter on priority,” added Singh.
