Ludhiana After providing people-friendly facilities to visitors at the Sarabha Nagar police station, the Police department now plans to construct waiting rooms at the police headquarters and other police buildings situated near the Mini Secretariat.

A tin shed installed outside the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) building at the vacant land which was earlier being used as a parking lot has now been converted into a waiting hall for the visitors thronging the SSP office.

Sources said similar sheds and other waiting rooms will also be constructed at other police buildings in the city.

In the absence of waiting rooms in most of police stations in the city, visitors face many problems.

SSP Ludhiana (Urban) R K Jaiswal said the police would provide other facilities to the visitors at police buildings.

He said the main focus of the exercise was to make the police more people friendly.

Recently, the Sarabha Nagar police station has been developed as a model police station where visitors now get a place to sit apart from refreshments.
