Dadwal said that the new helpline will address the concerns of people whose wards have gone missing from the city. “The case of missing children is an issue of great concern and we will do whatever possible to trace them,” Dadwal said.
Referring to the case in the slum area behind New Sanjay Amar Colony, located behind the Karkardooma Courts, Dadwal said, “Our initial investigations have revealed that two girls and two boys were in a relationship. Different police teams have been fanned out in different parts of the city and some adjourning states to trace their whereabouts.”
Dadwal said that it looks like a case of elopement and is not a repeat of the infamous Nithari killings after social activists claimed that more than 20 children have gone missing from the same area since 2002. He said that in the area there are no organised gangs that can be involved in the kidnapping.
