Ludhiana Model Town SHO has expressed reservations about Gupta’s claims

Vikas Gupta (30), who was allegedly abducted by unidentified men and taken to Una on January 19, will be taken to the hilltown by Model Town police to ascertain the exact sequence of events.

Talking to Newsline, Model Town Station House Officer Beant Kumar Juneja expressed some reservations about Gupta’s claims.

“We have found several flaws in the kidnapping story narrated by Gupta and plan to probe the matter thoroughly. For this purpose, we have decided to send a police party to Una in Himachal Pradesh. Gupta will accompany the team so that his claims may be verified,” he said.

During questioning, Gupta revealed that he was kept in a building at Una by the kidnappers. “We will try to locate that building and consequently, trace the abductors by ascertaining who frequented the place during the time when Gupta was missing,” added the SHO.

Vikas Gupta is a resident of Ashok Nagar. His father, Achhru Ram Gupta, manufactures cycle parts. Vikas had gone to pick up his nephew from his tuition classes in Dugri around 7.30 pm on Monday but went missing for two days. He was found on the evening of January 21 after he called his family and told them about his whereabouts.
