Dikshit has reportedly chalked a plan and set deadlines for agencies to complete work pertaining to provision of civic amenities, roads, water supply and electricity in the colonies.

With the Municipal Corporation of Delhi and the Delhi Development Authority yet to draw up the boundaries for these colonies, the Chief Minister reportedly pulled up all agencies involved and demanded better coordination to complete work on time.

The Unauthorised Colonies Development Board comprises Urban Development Minister A K Walia, PWD Minister Raj Kumar Chauhan, Principal Secretary (Finance), Principal Secretary (Urban Development), Secretary Power, managing director, DSIIDC, CEO of Delhi Jal Board, senior officials of the MCD and other officers of agencies, including discoms. While the MCD is carrying out developmental work in 335 colonies, DSIIDC will be working in 571 colonies. The Irrigation and Flood department is handling 226 colonies.

The board also approved allocation of Rs 2,000 crore for 2009-10 and Rs 500 crore for 2010-11. The government has already allotted Rs 2,800 crore for the entire exercise and had earmarked Rs 660 crore for 2007-08 and Rs 1,043 crore for 2008-09.
