Vadodara The student leaders of the M S University staged a protest at the campus of the polytechnic college on Thursday after a student of the college was beaten up at the office of the general secretary of the university.

In the wake of the unrest at the campus, the university authorities have postponed the festival of the polytechnic college for a few days.

Hari Kiran Rao, the MSU Faculty General Secretary, said, “There are several incidents which promote anti-social activities at the campus. Even while this incident has taken place, former students of the college are found in an inebriated state within the university premises.”

After the incident in which Harpalsinh Rana, the second year student of the electronic stream of the polytechnic college, was beaten up, the ‘Vasant Utsav’ festival of the college has been postponed.

K S Agrawal, the principal of the polytechnic college, said, “We will look into the matter and are also planning to form a disciplinary committee.”
