Chandigarh The Panjab University has decided to take action against members of the Asaram Bapu ashram who had pasted posters across various departments denouncing Valentine’s Day.

The posters, which were placed on notice boards, stated that on Valentine’s Day, students should seek their parents blessings and spend the day paying respect to them.

A PU official said the members had been given permission to distribute the pamphlets in coordination with the Student’s Council. They, however, went around pasting the posters without due permission. Prof Naval Kishore, Dean Students Welfare said: “Pasting posters without permission is not acceptable and we will take action.”

The DSW has called a meeting on Thursday to decide on its final course of action.
