Power transmission to be strengthened

Chandigarh Under its ongoing plan to strengthen the transmission network in the state, the Haryana Power Utilities plans to construct 108 new sub-stations, erect associated lines and augment capacity of 120 existing sub-stations during the next two years.

The Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam (HVPN) has commissioned 38 new sub-stations, augmented capacity

of 117 sub-stations and erected 988 kilometer long transmission lines during the tenure of the present government, with an investment of Rs 741.36 crore. In all, the Nigam added 4,180 mega volt amperes capacity to ensure reliable transmission of power in the state.

In a meeting, convened by the Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary (Power), Ashok Lavasa, the status of transmission works connected with evacuation of power from Thermal Power Project, Yamunanagar was discussed.

Lavasa also discussed the arrangements for providing construction power for Indira Gandhi Super Thermal Power Project (IGSTPP) at Jharli. It was observed the augmentation of 132 KV sub-station Bahu and Matanhail had been carried out by providing additional power transformers at these sub-stations.
