The President was received by Governor Gopalkrishna Gandhi, Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, Chief Secretary Ashok Mohan Chakraborty and Director General of Police Bhupinder Singh.
Airport sources said her cavalcade left the airport around 6.40 pm. Patil will stay at the Raj Bhavan tonight.
On Monday, the President will attend the concluding programme of the Platinum Jubilee of the Indian National Science Academy (INSA) at the Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics (SINP) at Salt Lake. Talking to mediapersons, SINP Director Milan K Sanyal said many eminent personalities from the field of science, including 250 from India and 40 from abroad, will turn up at the four-day programme.
She will also meet people from different walks of life at the Raj Bhavan on Monday evening and inaugurate a Solar P V Power project in the premises.
