Mumbai Two teenagers were arrested by the Deonar police for allegedly raping a 21-year-old girl. The girl was reportedly having an affair with one of the teenagers and had been pestering him to marry her.

The police said that the girl approached the police station in the wee hours of Sunday morning alleging that she had been raped. “We have arrested Srikant Khopde (19), a Mankhurd resident, and Sachin Dawre (19) who stays in Govandi, on Sunday,” said sub-inspector P M Salunkhe, who is investigating the case.

“According to the complainant, Khopde and she had been in a relationship, which begun to sour when Khopde repeatedly refused her pleas to marry her. On Saturday, Khopde had reportedly called her and asked to meet. He took her to Dawre’s house in Govandi where both the boys reportedly raped her,” said Salunkhe.

The police have booked them for rape. While Khopde’s father runs a water tanker business, Dawre works as a cleaner, the police said.
