For the few admirers of etcings, artist and curator Yashpal Chandrakar got 12 artists to make etchings that are on view at Gallerie Ganesha in the exhibition titled “Mark of Masters-2”. Arpana Caur has a meditating yogi standing on one foot (above) and Sarbari Roy Chowdhury has neat outlines of a female nude. Shuvaprasanna transfers a floral vase from his celebrated Illusion series onto an etching and Lalu Prasad Shaw perches a butterfly on a vase. Chandrakar has also released a book on the history of etchings dating back to the Indus Valley civilization. Ramchand Roy’s engraved illustration mentioned in the Bengali book Oonoodah Mongol is listed as the first mention of an Indian printmaker.

The exhibition is on till November 30.
