Ludhiana Ludhiana Deputy Commissioner is the ‘most honest’ officer and inquiry officer J S Bir indeed needs to be honoured.” This satirical remark was made by Deputy Speaker Satpal Gosain while reacting to an inquiry report submitted by the Divisional Commissioner.

Bir gave his report to the Chief Secretary on Tuesday morning giving DC Sumer Singh Gurjar a clean chit in the allottment of cracker sites during Diwali.

“This means that the deputy speaker was wrong. I have much more to reveal but I will show my cards in the coming days,” he added.

According to information, though the DC has been given a clean chit, the inquiry officer has suggested more transparency in the allottment of sites which generate whopping revenue for the administration.

Gosain said, “Although I don't have the inquiry report with me, as per the details the inquiry officer did not follow any norms in conducting the inquiry and the result is thus evident. I will meet the CM once he reaches Chandigarh because there is much more that I have to share against this officer.”

Deputy Commissioner Sumer Singh Gurjar, however, was a bit relaxed today and in a visibly happy mood. “I have not got any intimation from the divisional commissioner nor have read any text of the report. But indeed the New Year has brought cheers for me.”
