While interacting with PAU Vice-Chancellor Dr Manjit Singh Kang, Dhillon said that he had already deposited the amount with the Comptroller of the university for this purpose. Dhillon appreciated the pro-farmer programmes of PAU. He said that he was greatly motivated by PAU scientists, who inspired him to innovate his farming operations.
Thanking Dhillon for providing funds to start an award for other farmers, Dr Kang expressed that this will inspire other farmers to excel in farming. Dr NS Malhi, Director Extension Education, informed that the contributions of Surjit Singh Dhillon are well recognized, and he has been awarded the Dalip Singh Dhaliwal award by PAU.
Dhillon, a hardworking, innovative farmer, is well known for his using a single bullock for carrying out diverse farm operations in a small holding of around five acres. Dhillon, who is a member of Malwa Vigyanak Club, Ludhiana, is a regular reader of PAU farm literature and is always on the fore-front to educate other farmers about his farming innovations.
