Pronoy, who clocked 58:13.87 seconds, bettered the old mark (1:08:53.16) of Krishanu Nagar of Otters set last year, while Aditi’s timing of 1:05:57.12 saw her eclipsing the Niti Ganjawala of NSCI)’s mark of 1:45:02.57, also set in 2007. Both were also adjudged the faster swimmers of the meet and were richer by Rs 10,000 each. They also got Rs. 5000 for winning their respective event as well.
On the first day Aakanksha, apart from winnig the girls under-10 2000m event, also bettered the record set by Rujuta Bhatta of Khar Gymkhana in 2006 by clocking 28:37.78. Ashwathy Nair of Mulund Swiming pool, who finished second, too, improved upon Rujuta’s timing as completed the distance in 19:10.24.
The winners of all the events were were richer by Rs. 5000, while second best got Rs. 3000 and the thirdplace received Rs 1000.
