Rajinder Sharma, president of the the association, said, “According to this policy, every student will have to pass seven subjects in the annual examination. However in the previous education policy the passing criteria was only of six subjects.”
Members of the association said if the government implements the new educational policy, then it will have harmful effects.
Sharma said, “It will mean almost 5 per cent more work load for the students of PSEB as compared to CBSE and will deteriorate the literacy rate of the state as a lot of students will drop out due to failure in examination.” The members of the association plan to meet Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal regarding the matter.
