Pune Twenty-five-year-old Dipali Navin Borade, a housewife, who became a police sub inspector after clearing the Maharashtra Police Service Commission examination, was felicitated by several women's self-help group working under the umbrella of Forbes Marshall, at a function held at Kasarwadi on Wednesday afternoon.

Replying to her felicitation, Dipali said she accepted the felicitation so that other youngsters will come to know about the MPSC exam and take inspiration from her success. "I am sure lot of youngsters will get inspired by my achievement. The post of a PSI is not the greatest one, but whatever success I have achieved is by no means less," said the mother of a four-year-old daughter. Dipali said getting support from husband is not big deal.

"It is mother-in-law's support which is very important. In my case, I got full support from mother-in-law who has encouraged me all along," she said.

Hailing from Dhonde village in Rajgurunagar, Dipali, who drew inspiration and constant support from her husband, cleared her MPSC exam in her maiden effort earlier this month. After clearing the PSI exam, Dipali has now set her eyes on becoming a senior officer which, she says, is more challenging and allows an officer to implement his or her ideas for public welfare.

Women who had gathered in big numbers for the function spoke about encouraging their children to take up MPSC exam.

At the same function, a safety clinic workshop was also organised by BPCL in association with Gujar Enterprises. During the workshop, women were told about the safety steps required to avoid LPG explosions.
