Dean Students Welfare (Women), Prof Nistha Jaswal, who also heads the cell, agrees that the cell lacks popularity.
She said: “There are many students who do not want to come out in the open with their complaint. So, we plan to set up a complaint drop-box in all the departments so that students can access it easily. Student representatives will be deputed to bring these complaints to us for further action.”
The officials also plan to have a link for the cell on the PU website. “This will make things much easier for students as they will be able to make their complaints online,” said Prof Jaswal.
The Students’ Council has decided to play an active role in revamping the cell. President of the Students’ Council Sahil Nanda said, “While new students join the campus every year, no one is really aware about the cell as no measures have been taken by officials to make the it popular.” He added that the council is making efforts to popularise the cell among students.
