"Tilokani's brother N.Sachdeva, a resident of Clover Island on NIBM Road, was searching for a woman who can work at Tilokani's home in Spain. Sachdeva's car driver told me about this job. Tilokani had offered Rs 20,000 per month. She also assured to take the responsibility of complete education of my five-year-old son," Salunke said.
“I am not staying with my husband for the last few years due to some problems. I was earning some money by supplying food items to local marts. But that was not enough for my son's future. So I decided to go to Spain," she said.
Things turned out to be different when she actually started working with the Tilokanis. "I was employed to look after the children. But the Tilokanis subjected me to rigorous household work. When I refused to do it, they manhandled me. On February 14, they confined me in a corner and put hot burning metal sticks on my forearms," said Salunke, showing the marks on her hands.
She then ran away from the house and with the help of a local shopkeeper lodged a complaint with the Spain police against the Tilokanis on February 25. Salunke then approached an Indian club in Spain for help. "But instead of rescuing me, the club members handed me over to the Tilokanis," she said.
