Some airline companies accommodated their passengers in another flight; but some passengers got stranded on the airport, which added to their agony.
The Jet Airways, Jetlite and SpiceJet flights scheduled in the evening got cancelled. The Jet company’s morning flight, which got delayed because of fog came at Pune at 3.20 pm.
“We cancelled the evening flight and informed about it to the passengers. Almost 50 percent passengers cancelled their tickets, while remaining were accommodated in the morning flight, which came late and went back to Delhi at 4 pm,” said an official from Jet Airways. “Some passengers were also accommodated in the Air India flight,” he added.
Meanwhile, the SpiceJet’s morning flight, which also came late, was cancelled.
“We were told at 12 pm that the flight will fly to Delhi at 4.30 pm. We went to the airport at 3.30 pm. We were boarded in the flight at 4.30 pm and for one hour there was nothing happening.
“At 5.30 pm the officials told us that the flight was cancelled,” said Dr Shalaka Agarkhedkar who had a connecting Delhi-Deharadun train on Thirsday morning.
“I was going for a conference at Masuri. But now I will have to cancel my plans,” she said. “As it was not my fault, I asked for the refund for Delhi-Deharadun journey also besides the flight ticket. But they refused to give the refund.”
