Punjab basketball association to honour winners

Ludhiana, January 11 Punjab Police Academy, Phillaur in association with the Punjab Basketball Association will honour its medal winning teams of last year at a special function to be held on January 12 at Golf Club.

This was informed here in a release issued by the Punjab Basketball Association today. The medal winning teams of 2006-07 include Punjab senior men team, which won bronze medal at Jaipur, a bronze medal at the National Games at Guwahati and the team which clinched silver medal at Pondicherry. Other teams to be felicitated would be the youth team which won silver medal at National Championship at Jaipur, sub junior team which won gold medal at National Championship at Rahon. The association will also honour some current international players like, Hardeep Singh, Arjuna Awardee (Kabaddi) Geeta Rani, Arjuna Awardee (Wt. Lifting), Banta Singh Olympian (Wrestling) Gurbax Singh (Volleyball) Gurmit Singh (Swimming) Charanjit Singh Bawa (Football) Jaswant Singh (handball, Sham Lal (Basketball), Darshan (Basketball), Lakhvir Singh (Pole Vault).
