Punjabi University emerge champions

Ludhiana Punjabi University, Patiala claimed the All India Inter-University Cycling Championship for the eleventh time at the Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana on Friday.

Punjabi University, Patiala emerged as winners in the men's team championship event with 52 points while Panjab University, Chandigarh grabbed the second spot with 35 points. MGS University, Bikaner claimed the third position with 10 points. In the women's category, Punjabi University, Patiala again emerged as the winners with a total of 23 points while Panjab University, Chandigarh claimed the second spot with 20 points. Kerela University claimed the third spot with 19 points.

In the women's 3,000 meters team pursuit event, the team of Punjabi University, Patiala comprising of Rajwinder Kaur, Sandeep Kaur, Gurpreet Kaur and Amandeep Kaur emerged as the winners while the team of Panjab University, Chandigarh comprising of Anupreet Kaur, Sukhpal Kaur, Neesha Rani and Suman claimed the second spot. The third spot was grabbed by the team of Kerela University comprising of BR Reshmi, Mahita Mohan, Mable Antony and V Deepa Chandran. In the 4,000 meters team pursuit event in the men's category, the team of Punjabi University, Patiala comprising of Gursharandeep Singh, Jasvir Singh, Sarpreet Singh and Karminder Singh claimed the top spot with a timing of 4 minutes and 51.287 seconds while the team of Panjab University, Chandigarh comprising of Jagdeep Singh, Gurbaj Singh, Satbir Singh and Pankaj Kumar claimed the second spot with a timing of 4 minutes and 55.606 seconds. The third spot was grabbed by the team of MGS University, Bikaner comprising of Om Prakash Jat, Ram Swaroop Jakhar, Shravan Kumar and Jetha Ram Jat. In the men's 1,000 meters sprint event, Kaminder Singh of Punjabi University, Patiala claimed the top spot with a time of 12.589 seconds while Harpinder Singh of Panjab University, Chandigarh claimed the second spot with a time of 12.682 seconds. The third spot was claimed by Sarpreet Singh of Punjabi University, Patiala who clocked a time of 12.998 seconds. In the men's 20 Km point racer sprint event, Ramswaroop of MGS University, Bikaner emerged as the winner while Gursharan Singh of Punjabi University, Patiala grabbed the second spot. Jasvir Singh of Punjabi University claimed the third spot. In the men's Olympic sprint race, the team of Punjabi University, Patiala comprising of Sarpreet Singh, Gursharandeep Singh and Kiran Inder Singh claimed the top sport with a timing of 1 minute and 10.810 seconds. The team of Panjab University, Chandigarh comprising of Satbir Singh, Harpinder Singh and Gurbaj Singh claimed the second spot. The third sport went to the team of Kerela University comprising of Vipin Vijay Kumar, Vuishnu R and Aneesh R.
