The members unanimously authorised the V-C to elect three members on the university’s Syndicate for one year, two on the Finance Committee for two years and co-opt three members for the next term of the Senate.
Singh also announced that the university’s next foundation day (on April 30) will be dedicated to the promotion of the Punjabi language, art and culture.
The university has already started a chain of functions at its regional centres and neighbourhood campuses to celebrate the Guruta Gaddi Diwas, which will culminate in a grand function on the university campus in September.
A Gurmat Sangeet Utsav will also be celebrated in collaboration with the SGPC, Singh added.
