PU’s Jagdeep pedals to glory

Ludhiana Jagdeep Singh of Panjab University emerged as the winner in the 4,000 meter individual pursuit event in the men's category with a timing of 5 minutes and 10.140 seconds on the second day of the All India Inter University Cycling Championship being held at Punjab Agricultural University. Jasvir Singh Sarao of Punjabi University, Patiala claimed the second spot with a timing of 5 minutes 17.147 seconds while Ram Swaroop Jakhar of Bikaner University claimed the bronze medal with a timing of 5 minutes and 23.82 seconds.

In the 3,000 meters individual pursuit event in the women's category, Gurpreet Kaur of Punjabi University, Patiala claimed the gold medal with a timing of 4 minutes and 42.371 seconds while Sukhpal Kaur of Panjab University, Chandigarh grabbed the second spot with a timing of 4 minutes and 42.371 seconds. Priyanka Desai of Pune University claimed the bronze medal with a timing of 4 minutes and 41.321 seconds. In the 1,000 meters scratch race event in the men's category, Sarpreet Singh of Punjabi University, Patiala claimed the top spot with a timing of 1 minute and 25.732 seconds while Kamninder Singh of Punjabi University, Patiala claimed the second spot. Satbir Singh of Panjab University, Chandigarh claimed the third spot. In the women's category in the same event, the top spot went to Mahita Mohan of Kerela University while Gurpreet Kaur of Punjabi University, Patiala grabbed the second spot. The third spot was claimed by Mable Antony of Kerela University. In the women's 3,000 meters team pursuit event, Panjab University team comprising of Anupreet Kaur, Sukhpal Kaur, Neesha Rani and Suman will compete for the top spot against the team of Punjabi University, Patiala comprising of Rajwinder Kaur, Sandeep Kaur, Gurpreet Kaur and Amandeep Kaur in the final. For the third spot, Kerela University team comprising of Parvathy G, Mahita Mohan, Mable Antony and V Deepa Chandran will compete against the Guru Nanak Dev University team comprising of Amandeep Kaur, Manjeet Kaur, Jagroop Kaur and Gurshant Kaur.
