Gul Panag, whose Straight releases next month, gets short and sweet on life, love and lingerie

Single and…?
Maybe not single.

Where do you like to hang out in the evenings?
I’m hardly a night-out person. But I went out last evening for dinner with my cousins and am still recovering from it. I prefer my apartment building’s rooftop; it has beautiful view and I really enjoy watching the stars.

What’s your poison?
The occasional glass of red wine.

Love to bite into?
Mexican is my favourite cuisine. Though, to me, food is merely a means for survival. I hardly crave anything. Junk food too doesn’t feature in my lifestyle for I firmly believe we are what we eat and that it shows.

What is the quality in a guy that would put you off?
I’m never affected by people as I don’t make friends easily. If there’s something I don’t agree with people on, I simply back off.

And what qualities do you like in guys?
Their ability to laugh at themselves, honesty and if their values system is similar to mine.

You’re an adventure sports freak. Where are you off to next?
I like to take a few days off every month. I just head out on a long drive to explore the outskirts of the city. Often, I leave at wee hours in the morning and return by evening. I should be taking a break by March-end.

What is your prized tech tool?
My phone is the best utility tool. But I also love playing Nintendo Wii.

Amitav Ghosh or Vikram Seth?
Neither. Aravind Adiga is my current favourite.

Guess what?
* Her full name is Gul Kirat Kaur Panag but the actress shortened it for people could hardly get her name right. “I have studied at various places all over the world. Many would just call me Gull,” she explained.
* Gul has a weakness for lingerie. She picks up pieces wherever she travels and her collection could easily rival a Victoria’s Secret warehouse.
