Radio cabs get cracking in town

Pune, February 5 Wings Travels, a transport solution provider in the city, has introduced a concept of “radio cab” in Pune. Bhuvan Dheer, regional manager, Maruti Suzuki Ltd, handed over the keys of 15 LPG Wagon R vehicles to Arun and Nitu Kharat from the Wings Travels at a function held recently. Aruna Naik, joint managing director, Millennium Mobility and Vinod Kale, general manager, Wonder Cars were present on the occasion.

The radio cabs would be available through the 24 hours customer care number 40100100, where one can call and ask for the cab. “

The cab from the nearest base station will come to pick you up and shall then drop at your destination in the city. User would be charged only from the distance between pickup and drop point,” said a release.

The rates for this AC cab would be Rs 16 per kilometre. Currently, the payment can be made by cash. However the company is also planning to introduce the credit card facility in the near future.

Wings Travels is targeting to have a fleet of over 400 radio cabs in the next six months and the focus would be have LPG vehicles. The areas where these radio cabs would be stationed include Airport, Pimpri-Chinchwad, Hinjewadi, Katraj, Kalyaninagar, Aundh, Yerawada, Hadapsar, Bibvewadi and Karvenagar.

The company will soon have a tracking and dispatch services system from a reputed German firm, which will enable the company to provide efficient and secure services to its customers.

Wings Travels is already in the business of providing innovative, eco-friendly cheaper transport solutions round the clock since the past 15 years and is already a service provider to many reputed BPO Companies operational in Pune with its fleet of 1000 plus vehicles including Pune and Mumbai.
