The court also sent the four accused — Ajay Verma, Naveen Verma, Abhinav Verma and Mukul Sharma — to judicial custody for two weeks today.
Deputy Superintendent of Police, Kangra, Omapati Jamwal said all the four accused were produced in the court of the judicial magistrate (first class), Kangra, and were sent to judicial remand up to April 1.
Earlier, the court had remanded them to police custody till today.
Meanwhile, the MCI team collected evidence and details relating to the death. They also met the faculty members and students today and recorded their statements. The committee members had also interacted with the students in auditorium on Wednesday.
Sources said all the members visited the hostels, including the one where ragging took place.
Even as the magisterial and the MCI probe are on, the college authorities have also ordered an internal probe.
“The anti-ragging committee has been strengthened,” said the newly-appointed principal, Dr Anil Chauhan. The college authorities will ensure that the new batch that will join in July gets a friendly and healthy environment on the campus, he added.
