Rahon road accident: drivers of truck, car booked

Ludhiana In a first, Basti Jodhewal police have booked two drivers on charges of causing deaths due to rash and negligent driving.

On Friday morning, a woman and her daughter-in-law died after a speeding truck ran over them on Rahon road.

The women were riding pillion on a motorcycle, when an Indica hit the bike while reversing.

The deceased were identified as Mohinder Kaur (50) and Narinder Kaur (28), residents of Chaharwal village.

While the truck driver — Nishan Singh — was arrested today near Meharban village, the car driver has not been identified yet.

No one had noted the registration number of the car, said police sources.

Salem Tabri Station House Officer Waryam Singh said Nishan Singh has been released on bail.
