State Youth Congress president Mihiri Shah told Newsline that Rahul will not address any public meetings, but will meet small gatherings of fishermen in Porbander and Bhavnagar, and Scheduled Castes, women and minorities in Vadodara, Godhra and Surat.
Rahul’s visit is aimed at pushing the membership drive of the Youth Congress, which began on February 8, but he will also hold personal meetings with party workers to prepare them for the elections, he said.
The Youth Congress is projecting a 5 lakh target membership in the drive. The organisational elections will be held in the second week of March.
