Kolkata The special operation group of CID unearthed a cache of illegal arms from the office of a private Ispat and Alloy plant in Durgapur in Burdwan district on Friday.

“We have seized 62 guns with fake licences since we started the operation. After we complete seizing illegal guns from other places in the state, we will focus on the racket operating here,” said Annuj Sharma, special IG, CID.

Acting on a tip off, the CID team raided the office of Sobha Ispat and Alloy Pvt Ltd in Durgapur. This is the first private company to have been raided as the earlier raids were all conducted in government offices.
