Railways to run special trains during Diwali

Ahmedabad, October 23 Western Railway has decided to run special trains between Ahmedabad and Patna in view of a heavy passenger rush. Accordingly, train number 947/948 will run as ‘Chhath Special’ between Ahmedabad and Patna while train number 949/950 will run between Ahmedabad and Nanded.

Train number 947 will leave Ahmedabad at 9.30 pm on October 30 and on November 3. Pairing train number 948 will leave Patna at 11.30 pm on November 1 and November 5. It will go via Vadodara, Ratlam, Kota, Agra Fort and Allahabad in both directions with six general and 6 sleeper class coaches, besides others.

Train number 949 will leave Ahmedabad at 3.45 pm on October 27 and make its return journey as train number 950 from Nanded at 10.15 pm on October 29. It will have 14 coaches that would include six general and six sleeper class coaches, said a press release issued by the Divisional Railway Manager, Rajiv Mishra, on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, South Central Railway (SCR) will run six special trains on October 29 between Secunderabad and Rajkot to accommodate the additional number of passengers during Diwali.

Train number 717, Secunderabad-Rajkot Special, will depart from Secunderabad on October 29 and November 12 at 2.50 pm and reach Rajkot at 8 pm the next day, an SCR release said on Wednesday.

The returning train, number 718 Rajkot-Secunderabad Special will depart from Rajkot on October 24, November 7 and 14 at 5 am to reach Secunderabad at 10.30 am the day after.
