The train was moving “slowly” when two front wheels of its engine jumped tracks at around 9.15 am,CPRO,Eastern Railway Samir Goswami said. None of the coaches were derailed.
“Since none of the coaches were affected, there was no casualty or injury,” Goswami said. “Prima facie, it appears that 300 pandrole clips on the tracks were removed. Therefore, we are not ruling out sabotage. However, it has to be investigated.’
However, DGP (Railways) Dilip Mitra said that “sabotage is ruled out, and it was an accident”. Mitra, who visited the spot, said the pandrole clips were not removed and the accident was caused by sudden application of emergency brake by the driver.
“Displacement of the pandrole clips occurred subsequent to the application of emergency brake by the driver after he heard an abnormal sound and there was a jerk in the engine,” he said. He also claimed the train was “running at a high speed” and that there was “no cautionary signal as it was passing through Baruipara station”.
Chief Operations Manager, Eastern Railways, Ambarish Mukherjee, who was on the train, “immediately took charge of the situation after the derailment”, the Goswami said. An EMU rake was sent to bring the stranded passengers to Howrah, he added.

Indeed, it must have been a "conspiracy" by the CPM !
Rajdhani's has had a close shave, thanks to the prompt action taken by the driver of the train. However, General Manager ruled out any sabotage and pointed out to the lack of maitenance of trains. For God's sake Railway minister has not come out with any statement as yet. It's likely she'd claim it's the handiwork of the State Govt.No hihglevel enquiry would be able to change her opinion, however convincing may be the report of their enquiry. Some central minister might stand by her.Any way, enough is enough. It's hightime the railways could stop playing ducks and drakes with the lives of the passengers.
After going through the Report it is evidently a case of sabotage.300 pandoral clips were removed from track making derailment more serious and fatal had the bogies jumped the marked area. Rly accidents take place in Bengal only. CBI enquiry is also a must in this case to pin-point the culprit behind it.What a pity our own people kill own people. They should understand Railway is a National Property & Pride of Nation and morally it has to be saved from eventualities. Do they want to create a scence of crying relations after the accident.Give some sereious thought to it for a second and take how does one feel when someone dear to him is involved in a socalled man made disaster. Without Prejudice.
While GM,Eastern Railway claims it's purely an accident and and not an act of sabotage, how could you claim some foul play is involved to exonerate railways from lack of maitenace that is responsible for this incident. Such a remark is the result of irrational one track mindset.
