“A priority landing clearance was given to Jet Airways flight 9W444 from Bangalore because the flight had an infant suffering from a heart disease and was to be admitted to a hospital for treatment,” said a Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL) spokesperson.
“Priority landings are different from emergency landings which arise out of emergency medical conditions onboard. In this case, the entire airport was prepared,” said an air traffic controller.
