New Delhi Fresh from his win at the LG Rambagh Open Amateur, Rashid Khan will spearhead the Indian challenge in the Faldo Series Asia Grand Final scheduled at Mission Hills, China from March 25 to 27 and will be aiming to defend his title in the event. A win will also earn him a spot in the world grand finals.

Eighteen-year-old Rashid won the Faldo Series Asia title in December 2007 to book a place in the world grand finals in Brazil along with Rahul Bakshi, where the latter won in his age-group category. This time around, Rashid will be up against 60 other players from 12 different Asian countries, where they will compete over 54 holes on the Faldo Course.

Rashid will be accompanied by Amanjyot Singh in the U-21 category, Chikkarangappa and Bhanu Pratap Singh in the U-18 category and Ankur Chaddha in the U-15 category while Gauri Monga will participate in the U-16 category. The Indian team was decided on the basis of the Faldo Series tournament at the Poona Club Golf Course in November last year. The tournament was won by Chikkarangappa, who also shot a course-record of 64.
