Chandigarh Tight security arrangements have been made in Haryana in view of Republic Day celebrations tomorrow, the police officials said. The state police is on high alert and vigil has been heightened at key public places including railway stations, bus stands, shopping malls and cinema halls, official sources said.

Additional forces are being deployed as VVIPs and other dignitaries will be attending the Republic Day parade functions at different places in Haryana. The Centre has asked Haryana police to intensify highway patroling to avert use of micro-light aircraft and hand gliders for any aerial attack, according to sources in the Haryana police.

DGP Ranjiv Dalal has issued instructions to the police to keep a vigil and a special watch on assembling of any micro-light aircraft or hang gliders.

Haryana Governor Dr A R Kidwai will unfurl the flag at Rewari and Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda at Gurgaon. Security has been increased around vital public installations, the sources said.
